Housing Stabilization Services (HSS) – DHS Minnesota
Housing Stabilization Services (HSS) is a Medical Assistance (MA)-covered program through the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) that helps people with disabilities and seniors find and maintain stable housing. Our goal is to provide the support needed to live more independently in the community.

- Identify housing goals and needs
- Assist in accessing community resources
- Housing Transition Services
- Find housing that meets your preferences
- Help with applications, lease reviews, and moving arrangements
- Coordinate with landlords and support systems
- Housing Sustaining Services
- Support maintaining your housing
- Assist with budgeting, resolving tenant issues, and navigating recertifications
- Build skills for long-term housing stability
Eligibility
- Are on Medical Assistance (MA)
- Have a disability or disabling condition
- Are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or transitioning from a licensed setting
- Have a documented housing instability
We work closely with county case managers, housing coordinators, and families to ensure each person receives the support they need to live safely and independently.
